ABBOTT VERSUS ASTROLOGO (The Witchita Beacon) Fascism experienced a reverse in Rome the other day when John Adams Abbott, descend ant of the two Presidents Adams, John and John Quincy, encountered one Astrologo, an Italian guide who thought that the mere men tion of Mussolini was sufficient to overawe any American with a grievance, Young Adams proved that the old American revolutionary stock is still virile and ready to say it with wallops if necessary. He did not take the aggressive, but merely accepted a challenge to fight. And, Oh, Boy! When the fight was over, Astrologo went to the hospital with a broken jaw. His only come back was to have Adams arrested on the ground that he had slandered Mussolini. It seems that the usual method of having some body arrested in Italy these days is to accuse the victim of having slandered Mussolini. It may not be diplomatic or use to jump at conclusions in this case. Possibly young Adams was over-zealous in the first Provocative in stance. But there is a sneaking feeling in the breasts of most American observers, even in cluding some of those who are pacifistically in clined, that Astrologo got what was coming to aim.
