Owing to the cold wet weather people are all behind with their corn planting. James Townsley celebrated his eighty-first birthday on April 26. He can play the fiddle just like he did when he was twenty. James Garland says he is prepar ing to launch a grand attack on the meddlesome ground squirrels right away. We are very sad to announce the death of Rev. Woodson Jordan. He was in his seventy-ninth year when on May 2nd he passed into eternal rest. He was probably the oldest minister in Knox County and his life was filled with usefulness and worthy deeds. He was widely known and dearly loved by all. The funeral took place May 3rd, conducted by Rev. Thomas Gray.
