Frick Raffoth and family visited the John Rasmussen home in Alden on Sunday going in their car. H. Stensrud of Hartland visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Stensrud on Friday. His daughter Miss Cora ac companied him home for a few days visit. Pete Jensen and family drove to Wells, Sunday, and were the guests of relatives. Mrs. Lou Jensen and children drove up from Alden Saturday for a visit at Mrs. Lisa Jacobson'‘s. Miss Esther Larson returned home from Albert Lea Saturday evening and reports her mother who is at the Naeve hospital, improving as rapidly as could be expected. Sig Link was at Elk river last week where he went to attend the wedding of a brother. Rev. Moore of Alden gave a splendid ‘*Mother's Day” sermon Sunday after noon at the M. E. Church. C. B. Howard transacted business at Waterloo, Wednesday and Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bucknam and family and Lorna Purdie took a trip to Osage by auto starting early Saturday morn ing and returning Sunday evening. Dr. and Mrs. Butturff agtoed to Win nebago City, Saturday afternoon re turning home in the evening. “The Winners a class in the M. E. Sunday school were entertained at the T. J. Howser home Thursday evening. Delicious refreshments were served, games indulged in and a general good time was had by the young people. The Royal Neighbors observed Mothers Day at the M. W. A. Hall Saturday afternoon, about 50 members with their guests being present. Ap propriate quotations and readings were given by the members and the company was also favored with good talks from mesdames Upton and F. L Purdie. A banner drill was given after which bounteous refreshments were served and at present enjoyed a most pleasing afternoon. The C. I. C. class of the Cong. 8. 5S. met at the Henry Hunte home Thurs day evening. The hostess served deli cious refreshments, games were play ed and all greatly enjoyed the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Wood visited with relatives at Albert Les over Sunday. Mr. Pete Hansen who recently arriv ed here from Kint, Wash, has purchas ed the Wm. Hansen farm, one mile from the village and will occupy it the fore part of June. Mr. Jensen paid £ 90 per acre. Mr. Hansen has not fully decided where he will locate but Free born people hope they may decide to remain here. Mrs. L. L. Howard, west of town was on the sick list part of last week. Guy Chaffee and family agtoed to Austin Saturday afternoon and visited relatives until Sunday evening. Mrs. H.R Brooks will entertain the M. E Aid Society Thursday afternoon May 15. All are cordially invited to attend. Mrs. Geo. Jones was in Alden part of last week, helping care for Mrs. Josiah Jones who is quite ill. Miss Laura Hansen came up from Albert Lea Saturday morning for a visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Nels Hansen. Miss Haugen of Albert Lea is the guest of her cousin Mrs. H Hansen. The infant child of Herman Peters died Sunday May 4, and the funeral was held Tuesday, Rev. Upton officiat ing. Mr. and Mrs. Peters have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. Mrs. Gordon Dezel of Albert Lea visited at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Chris Rasmussen last week. Joseph Hansen was 28 county seat visitor the latter part of the week. Messrs A. L. Seaville and Peter Stensrud are in Albert Lea this week serving as jurors. CLARKS GROVE. Louis Larson transacted business at Ellendale Tuesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Jensen of Al bert Lea motored here Sunday morn ing and attended church. They visit ed friends here during the afternoon, returning in the evening. Jensen is ill with an at tack of pleurisy. We hope for her speedy recovery. James Jensen of Glenville visited his friend Peter Nelson last Sunday afternoon. The Farther Lights society of the Danish Baptist church meets at Etta Jensen‘s home next Wednesday after noon at 2 o’clock. On Friday evening school Dist. Larson left Monday for Albert Lea to attend a reunion of the Burg lund family. From there he will go to his home at La Crosse, Wis. The Mission Circle will meet at Mrs Peterson's next Thursday at 2 o'clock. A very pretty home wedding occur ed Wednesday evening, May 7, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Peterson when their daughter Martha Eva, became the wife of George V. Lar son. The bridal procession marched to the parlor to the strains of Lohen grin‘s wedding march played by Mrs. Levi Peterson a sister of the bride. Little Ruby Peterson was ring bear er, carrying the ring in a large calla lily. Miss Hazel Peterson was flow er girl and Misses Lilly Gregerson and Mamie Larson were bridesmaids. All were dressed in light blue and white. Albert Larson, brother of the groom and Arnold Peterson, cousin of the bride were best men. The bride was dressed in a beautiful white satin trimmed with beaded pearls. The groom wore the conventional black. Rev. Larson of LaCrosse pro nounced the words that made them man and wife and after congratula tions they repaired to the Peterson Hotel, where a bountiful spread had been prepared. Many beautiful pres ents were given Mr. and Mrs. Lar son and among them a check for $500 from Ole Larson father of the groom. Mrs. Larson's father present ed them with a check for $100. They will reside at the Peterson residence after June 1, having rented it for the summer.
