Sikh and Chink Haven't Settled the Ownership Yet. The trial of the charge against Ching Lee, a Chinese storekeep of stealing $27 from Fa Singh, a Sikh employed in one of the lumber mills in the city, was adjourned in the police court yesterday until Saturday. The Sikh tells the tale that he cash ed a cheque for $27.10 at the Banko Toronto and visited the accused's store with the intention of dissipat ing the 10 cents in cabbage. He alleges that when paying for his purchase he drew out the wad of bills, in which was deposited the dime, and laid them on the counter. Whereupon Ching Lee grabbed the money and handed it to an assistant, claiming it as his own.
