Homer Davenport, the carioonist has leased a portion of the farm of ex- Senator Richardson, near Gorben, and will take his collection of Arabian and Morgan horses there. Some of these have already arrived, and to others will be there in a short time- Mr Davenport's intentions relative to his horses are told in a letter to Sen ator Richardson, in which he says: “I have come to Goshen because I believe it’s the best horse section of the eastern part of the United States, as I want to give my desert bred Art bian horses the best opportunity pos sible, I shall bring all told about thirty-five head of pure Arabian horses and five head of Merga... “Now that my Arabs here swept t he decks at the spring horse shots, win ning first, second and third in the ble classes at Durlend’s, I believe there, will be a great future for the Arabian horse bred in its purity, and its for breeding pure Arabians that I heve leased a part of Senator Richardson's beautiful and fertile farm. I shall live there, going daily to the city, where, of course, I shall draw a car toon every day for the Evening Mail. My aged father, from Oregon, may spend the season with me, as he has near relatives to Goshen mother hav ing been a sister of the late Joseph W. Goi”
