Nellie Noon Fiynn.of This City, Falls From a Window of a ConventIT IS SAID SHE WAS A. SOMNAMBULIST.Deserted By Her Betrayer, Fred Flynn. She Voluntarily Enters An Indianapolis Institution.BURIED IN THE CATHOLIC |CEMETERY.The bruised body of unfortunate Nellie Noon Flynn, was laid to reBt yesterday e moruing in tbe Catholic cemetery. There is a question as to the cause of her death. It is said she led a crowd of girls who were endeavoring to escape from the convent of the Good Shepherd, at Indianapolis, and fell from a third story window and sustained fatal injuries * The family refute the suicide theory. Michael Noon, a brother of the girl, made the following statement to a Journal reporter. “Nellie was betrayed by Fred Flynn, who was forced to marry her. Shortly thereafter he heartlessly abandoned her and went to St. Louis, leaving her to struggle for hersfelf and child. The baby was and is being ten derib eared for by our family.After she was deserted she became acquainted with the Fogarty children, whose guardian, Peter J. Madden, had sent them to the conveut to he educated. She a-ked her brothers to secure admission for her to the convent and without much trouble it was accomplished. Voluntarily she entered the place and remained there contented, after the first few weeks of homesickness. We visited her two weeks ago, and she appeared perfectly satisfied.“On May 1 we received a telegram summoning us to her at once. At 11 o’clock the previous night she had arisen from her cot in the dormitory, where a large number of others were sleeping, and, raising the window, dropped to a shed -twenty feet below, and then fell to the ground, a distance of eight feet. Her spine was injured and she was hurt internally. Although conscious up to the last minute, she could give no explanation of how it occurred. The Sisters think sht committed the act while asleep, or else was temporarily deranged. She was a daughter of William Noon.”
