• •Man Murder*-4.The American V.tUoy in Valencia county, New Mexico will become historical as a place ol blood. Another i tiusv abided lo us list of foul crimes. W\ H. Slaughter, one of the wealthiest stockmen of the south-west, has been killed there by two men named Uiootl and Adkins. Some tune since Mr. Slaughter was a member 01 the Sucorra county grand jury which indicted a nuuuer of men lor stealing cattle, among them the two men named. About the time that the murderer, Anderson, was being executed : at Socotra, Mr. Slaughter was riding on his range a few miles distant when he met the two men blood and Ad-kins, and an altercation ensued. Mr. »I Slaughter w as not tinned and to avoid tiouuic with them he rode away. The men pursued him and fearing they meant mischief lie put spurs to his horse, but they caught up near enough him to send six snots through his body when he icll from his saddle dead. The murderers escaped but sheriff Russell started with a posse in pursuit.tiH
