Slaughter, one of the wealthiest stockmen of the south-west, lias been killed there by two men named iilood and Adkins. Some tune since Mr. Slaughter was a member ol the Socorra county grand jury which in-dieted a nuuucT of men fur stealing cattle, among them the two men mimed. About the time that the murderer. Anderson, was being executed at Socoiia, Mr. Slaughter was riding 011 Ids range a few mile* distant when he met tht t wo men Blood and Adkins, and an altercation ensued. Mr. Slaughter was not armed and to avoid tiouotc with them he rode away. The men pursued him and fearing they meant mischief he put spurs to his horse, but they caught up near enough him to send six snots through his body when he fell Irom his saddle dead. The murderers escaped but sheriff Russell started with a posse in pursuit.
