Charles BethiCharles W. Bethel, 84, of 415 Front av. SW, New Philadelphia, an East Sparta Ceramics Co. lift operator, died Friday in Union Hospital following a 3-week illness.Bom at Flushing, he was a son of the late Charles and Verna Nelson Bethel.Surviving are 5 sons, Robert of Sandyviile, James of RD 1, Martins Ferry, Carl of the home, John of Mt. Pleasant and Floyd of New Philadelphia; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mae Luvcrn Applegarth of New Philadelphia and Mrs. Lewis (Mary Lou) Burke of Mt. Pleasant; a half-brother, Elmer H a w f 1 e 1 d dl Cambridge; 3 sisters, Mrs. Earl (Sarah) Starkey of Flushing, Mrs. Mary Spencer of Colum* bus and Mrs. Fioyd (Ola) Culbertson of New Athens, and IB grandchildren. His wife, the former Lottie Mae Walker, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Kaserman-Naylor Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Hartman officiating. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9,
