Optimist Club — Optimist club members heard Robert Horn speak yesterday at their meeting at Mansfield-Leland hotel. George Ganyard was program chairman. Committee Meets — The Rich land Victory Civic committee will hold its regular monthly meeting Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the as sembly room of the Chamber of Commerce. Dance Friday -- The Juke Box club will hold a dance at the Y.W. C.A. at 8 p.m. Friday. Robert Harper, president, will be in charge and Mrs. Jessie Crane will chaperone the group. Signs Waiver — Oscar H. Rus sell, Cleveland, signed a waiver and posted $10 and costs in Mans field municipal court on a charge of speeding on U. S. route 42 yes terday afternoon, state patrolmen reported today . Car Recovered — An automobile reported stolen Tuesday might from a garage at. 360 Grace street Was recovered yesterday in Ash land, police were informed in Mansfield. The car is owned by Peter Holzwarth, 360 Grace street. To Attend Meetings—Mrs. Mar jorie Comer, assistant juvenile of ficer in charge of girls, will at tend the national conference of social work in the Cleveland hotel May 24-28. Judge Stuart Cramer to attend sessions of the Nation al Probation association being held in Cleveland at the same time. Gets $20 Fine—Thomas Ware, colored, of Dayton, was fined $20 and costs in municipal court to day after pleading guilty to a charge of suspicion. He was ar rested by police yesterday on the complaint of a waiter in a South Park street restaurant who said Ware short-changed him when paying for a meal. Held to Jury—Pleading guilty in municipal court today to a charge of operating a motor ve hicle without the owner's consent. Chester Lawham, 27, of 345 Springmill street, was bound to the grand jury under $1,000 bond. He is held in connection with the alleged theft of a car from a Wayne street address Tuesday night. Claim Settled~Richland county commissioners today announced settlement out of court of the claims of A. B. Mabee, 392 West Third street, for damage to his property along the Pennsylvania railroad by the relocation of Trim ble road. His original claim for $800 denied, Mabee had indicated he would appeal to Probate court with a settlement of $216.44 made in lieu of such action. “Victory Kids Elect—Ontario school’s 4-H club, who call them selves “Victory Kids” elected of ficers at their first meeting of the season. Marilyn Taylor was named president; Barbara Odenkirk, vice president; Betty Taylor, secretary treasurer; Mary Lou Massie, re creation director; Jean Massie, news reporter and Mary Stotts, advisor. The next session will be May 27 at the home of Delores Balliett. Fined In Attack—Found guilty in municipal court today of as saulting Fred Jordan, colored. 295 North Main street, last Saturday at Sixth and Adams ‘street, Henry Blakey, colored, was fined $15 and costs and sentenced to 30 days in the county jail. The jail sentence was suspended on the condition of good behavior. An assault and battery charge against Nelson Ross, colored, who was arrested with Blakey, was dismissed. Forfeit Boné—Three Mansfield residents forfeited their bonds in municipal court this morning when they failed to appear for hearings. They were Mrs. Margaret Luckie, ae of 285 North Diamond street, charged with keeping a dis orderly house; Elizabeth Brooks, colored, same address, cited for disorderly conduct, and Aston Kagey, 322 East ‘First street, dis orderly conduct. Mrs. Luckie's bond was $25. Bonds in the other two cases were $16.30.
