A moment after wards, Beujamin Connor a dngucrreotypist, was seen emerging from the door with a pistol in one hand and aSnrrot in the other, lie was followed by a Ir. Williams, who was demanding possession of the bird. Conner turned andKresented ,________ , _____ehind the gate post, and Connor then walked away. Williams had however been mortally wounded by the shot fired in tho house, and ho fell to the earth. The alarm had been raised and severalcitizens pursued Couner, among others, Mr. W. 0. Mnthnis, who fired at him.Connor immediately turned on Mr. Mn thais and commenced firing. At the third shot Mr. Mnthnis fell—a hall having pierced his heart and he expired in a few minutes. Connor again fled, but was seized by an Irishman, who held him until the crowd came up. A brother of Mr. Mu-tlmis wished to avenge his relative’s death on the spot, in their own hands, but the City .Martial finally prevailed and Connor was looked in tho calaboso. Mr. Williams lingered till evening when ho died.
