The community’s slogan, “Princeton Towne of World Renown”, used during the State Air Mail Week, Was devised by Oliver Sayler.Co-operating with Princeton on the program are six nearby post offices, Kingston, Rocky Hill, Penningtonv Hopewell, Ski 11 man and Blawenburg.Marking the national celebration, which will be held from May 15 to 21, will be a state-wide sky-parade of approximately 100 planes, on Sunday, May 15. The armadia will leave Newark Airport at 11:00 a. m. and fly in formation ever an area covering 50 miles.Mayor Charles R. Erdman’s proclamation, setting aside May 15 to 21, as Air Mail Week, follows:“Whereas, the extension of the United States air mail service has been of great convenience and benefit to the whole country, and “Whereas, the further extension and increased facilities of this service depend upon the response of the public, and“Whereas, the week of May 15-21 has been designated as National Air Mail Week,“Now therefore, I, as Mayor of the Borough of Princeton, urge the citizens of this community to co-operate in this nation-wide observance by making all possible use of our air mail service and thus demonstrating our interest in the development of this division of the postal department.”
