FOUR INJURED IN AUTO ACCIDENTN arrowly Escape Death When Car Strikes Tel-ephone Pole.Four young people had a narrow eecape from death when the car In which they were riding struck a telephone pole one mile west of St. Regis Tuesday night.The ooeupanta of the car were Edgar McNabb, driver, and Dale Anderson, both of Salteee, May Dishman •nd Marion Shoemaker of Superior, students in the Superior high school. Oale Anderson and Edgar McNabbgraduated from the local high school last year.The four young people were crowded into the front seat of a Ford V-8 car and It is presumed that in driving eastward off of the Camel’s Hump the car had attained an excessive rate of speed, when It came in contact with a telephone1 pole of the Forest 8ervice.After the impact May Dishman was able to regain her feet and stop an east-bound car, the driver taking her to Superior where medical attention was given by Doctor Doyle. In the meantime the driver had left word of the accident with I* D. Robinson,forest ranger at St. Regis, who secured a truck and stretchers and proceeded at once to the scene of the accident. Sheriff Roy Charette, Highway Patrolman Mues and Dr. Doyle also drove to the scene. The injured young people were immediately taken to the Superior hoepi-***' J' ^ ~T7:' ^ ' *.■#’”1Miss Marion Shoemaker did not regain consciousness after the accident. Her condition is regarded as critical, Oale Anderson suffered a broken vertebra and with Miss Rheemaker was taken to « Missoula hospital Wednesday afternoon. Edgar McNabb and Miss May Dishman are under medical observation here.The car was owned by D. W. McNabb of Salteee and was completely demolished.
