Poland China breeding will be one of the principal objects in the opera tion of the big river valley farm one half mile from Pineville operated by Price Langley. Mr. Price formerly was a student in the college of agri culture of the University and studied to equip himself to specialize in pure bred livestock. Mr. Price recently purchased from the herd of James Tatum, Anderson, Mo., a yearling gift carrying a litter for August farrow by Sir Lunker, the boat owned jointly by Al Hudson and Mr. Tatum, which recently was brought to McDonald county. The gilt weighs 400 pounds in breeding condition and is out of a Fes@#y's Timm sow by Grant Jones. The price paid was $600. Mr. Price also has purchased several choice sows and gifts from the Glover, Bridges and Frazier herds, but considers the op portunity to get the bloom combina tion that the pigs by the Sir Lunker boar will carry as excellent founda tion stock. McDonald county farmers and breeders are appreciating the oppor tunity for profit that the Ozarks make possible through breeding hogs. Breed associations have been formed, and men like James Tatuat and others are trying to make it pos sible for good hogs, to be maintained on every farm.
