A considerable emigration of gold seekers is setting in towards Jlono Lake. An exchange says the diggings are mostly superficial but extensive, and that they are worked pretty much after the primitive California methods. They lie some six or seven miles north of the lake, in some low mountains running east from the base of the SierraNevada. The mountains, ereeks, ravines, and gulches are a coarse granite from the surface to the bed rock; the bed rock is also a coarse and rough granrte.
