TIPTON — The Winfield-Mtt. Un ion high track team won the class C district title here Saturday with 2 points and New London took third with 36. Seventeen teams Scored in the meet. The WMU athletes qualifying for the state meet at Pocahontas May 16 are Duane Johnson, first in the 220 yard dash in :23.9; the 880 yard relay team (Bob Nelson, Jim Chrisinger, Johnson, Steve Norder), first in 1:35.7; the mile relay team (Nelson, Chrisinger, Monte Thom son, Norder); Eric Pankoke, sec ond in the 120 yard high hurdles; Norder, second in the 440 dash and the second place 440 team. New London athletes qualifying were Paul Laipple, first in the 440 dash,52.2; Norm Krier, second in the 880 run; J. D. Marshall, second in the high jump; two mile relay (P. Laipple, Lance McAllister, Stan Kuhlenbeck, Gary Dustman), sec ond, and the mile medley team (P. Laipple, Jim Johnson, Marshall, Dustman), second, and Bill Laipple, third in the two mile run in 10:37.6 (his time bettered a first in another district.).
