HARGIS GIVES BONDAnd Leaves for Jackson.—$25,000 theAmount Required.Lexington, hy., May 8.—James Hargis, the County Judgeof Breathitt county, whose trialfor complicity in the murder of James Cockerill resulted in a hung jury, was released from custody in the Circuit Court Monday by Circuit Judge Watts Parker in bail of $25,00o, and at 2:26 o’clock that afternoon he boarded the Lexington and Eastern train with his mother, wife and daughter, fo* Jackson.The application for bail wasargued by the attorneys on eitherside last Saturday shortly after the jury in the case had been discharged by Judge Parker. Judge Parker took the matter under advisement until Monday morning. The court did not consult the attorneys on either side with reference to the amount of bail that should be executed by Hargis, and nothing was said when he fixed the amount at $25,000. The bond was signed by Floyd Day ann J. C. M. Day,wealthy lumber merchants, and was accepted at once.There was quite a crowd at the Lexington and Eastern de-Dot at Winchester to witness the passage of Judge Hargis to hishome in Jackson. A number of friends greeted him, among them Judge B. F. French. Judge Hargis called to French as the train was on the point of pulling out. “Say, Fult, give my love to Sam Jett and tell him I’ll bein Jackson to stand by him when he is tried for burning his house.”STORM AT DIXON.Blows Down Building and Creates Ex-citement.Dixon was visited by a small cyclone last Friday night that did considerable damage and terrified the inhabitants while it lasted.
