Now Assured Fairmont Will Be Represented at the Big Meet. The sending of Fairmont High school’s track team to Charleston Fri day to attend the state’ meet is now practically assured. The entries have already been sent to the officials at Charleston and Judging by the advance ale of tickets yesterday to the bene fibeing given today at the Dixie the ‘tie the proceeds from this together with the funds already. In possession of the High school athletic, associa tion, will easily total the amount it will Ceal to send the team to Charleston. ‘The expense of taking twelve or fifteen men to Charleston and back will amount to nearly’ $150 and if the proceeds of the benefit today, fail to provide sufficiently other plans wll be used by the local High school sup porters to raise additional money. The hard work of the local boys and the op timistic spirit, in which they have be gun the attempt to send a track team to Charleston for the first time since the beginning of the annual’ meetings is worthy of the support of every Iya Alumnus of the Fairmont High school. ‘Many of the graduates of the school who are in Fairmont would gladly con tribute the needed funds so their at tention was called the matter. The showing made by the local team at the Monongahels Valley meat held at South Side park last Saturday assures Fairmont High school of a worthy rep resentation at Charleston and the lo cal team is certain to be well-up in the summaries. ‘The team will be in far better condition for the state meet and some of the best men who were injured and unable to compete/Satur day wil again be back 11 the various events.
