COST OF PAVING STREET INTERSECTIONSTo Moscow Taxpayers:The present _ assessed valuation of Moscow is $1*785,14$. The proposed bond issue to cover cost of paving street intersections is $30,000. The balance of the paving will be paid for by the owners of abutting property, graduated according to distance. The interest on the $30,000 at 5 per cent, is $1,500 per year. By divid-this $1,500 by $1,785,148 the result is found to Ik* eighty-four hundredths of a mill, which is the rate of taxation ncccs-‘sary to raise the $1,500 interest annually. The $30,000 principal is raised by the sale of bonds, drawing only 5 per cent interest, due in twenty years, with the option of paying at any time after ten years.The law provides that a sinking fund to take up one-tenth of these bonds must be levied each year., after the expiration of ten years.
