Full Suit of Woman’s Apparel Picked upat Independence Dam,Wednesday night John Meister and Jacob Wendt, of Adams townshipcame down to the Independence dam io fish. Shortly after they arrived upon the ground they found something j that has been the occasion of much ! comment in that vicinity every since. The find consisted of nothing more or less than a full suit of woman’s apparel, barring the shirt or chemise. The dress was said to have been sprinkled with blood, but nothing is known of the owner or wearer of i the garments. The only woman who j is missing from the neighborhood is Mrs. James Gleason, who disappeared some seven weeks ago. She came to this city to accept a place as a domestic, but nothing has been heard of her from that day to this. This is a mat- ! ter that should call for some kind of Ian investigation. If their has beenfoul play or if there has been a suicide the public should know the facts.Sheriff Andy Tuttle and City Marshal Wm. Sharp visited the place where the elotbiug was found, this morning. They report that 1 here was 8 woman’s dress and skirt and a girl’s dress. They were found opposite the Strum farm, one-and-a-quarter miles below the Jam. There were a lot of people in camp there Sunday and the sheriff is rather of j the opinion that the dresses were castof garments left hy f.h?.t party.
