Edwin Derby, Samuel T. Messner. The special dancing feature by Mr. Quigly, of New York, was a happy one and won that recognition from the audience which it deserved. His ;dancing was fine. 'Perhaps no more pleased person who witnessed ' the opening per- ;form an ce of Warren’s most successful ■amateur production of late years, was Mrs. D. B. Bernard to whom the honor of whatever success “Pinafore” was last night, or will be the following nights, belongs. With never-flagging interest and steady perseverance she has conducted the rehearsals, with kindly advice here and a needed suggestion there, she has trained the, talent she had to produce the operay until it simply could not be improved] upon. Next to Mrs. Bernard, the person who has done much to make the production of “Pinafore” a success, special credit is due Miss Anna Bock-well, the accompanist. With faithful regularity she has attended the re-! hear sals and by her excellent rendition i of the music made the? task of training j the chorus an easy one. Her playing , last night was excellent.
