The special dancing feature by Mr. Quigly, of New York, was a happy one arid won that recognition from the audience which it deserved. Hisdancing was fine.Perhaps no more pleased person who witnessed ' the opening performance of Warren’s most successful amateur production of late years, was Mrs. D. B. Bernard to whom the honor of whatever success ‘'Pinafore” was last night, or will be the following nights, belongs. With never-flagging interest and steady perseverance she has conducted the rehearsals, with kindly advice here and a needed suggestion there, she has trained the talent she had to produce the operay until it simply could not be improved! upon. Next to Mrs. Bernard, the person who has done much to make the ‘ production of “Pinafore” a success, special credit, is due Miss Anna Bock-well, the accompanist. With faithful ( regularity she has attended the re-1 hearsais and by her excellent rendition i of the music made the task of training j the chorus an ea^y one. Her playing , last night was excellent. j
