Welch, W. Va., May 8 (#)— Orville W. Moore of Newhall was sentenced today to two to 10 years in the state penitentiary for malicious wounding in the shoot ing of a state liquor control agent The charge stemmed from the shooting last February 8 of Ar thur L. Jones, 41, of Athens, an enforcement agent for the state liquor control commission. McDowell criminal court judge Richard R. Parsons also sentenced Moore on two other charges grow ing out of the same cases. These terms, to be served concurrently with the wounding sentence, are one to 10 years for carrying a shotgun while engaged in the manufacture of liquor and one to five years for operating a moon shine still. Jones pleaded guilty to all three charges last month. Moore was hit in the upper thigh by a shotgun charge while he and two other agents were re turning to their car after investi gating a still site. The shooting occurred on a mountain side near Newhall.
