Dick Murphy Saves Man from RiptideI he presence of Dick Murphy, ier life guard on the North Beach Tuesday was a lucky break for Floyd Shaw of San Diego who was swimming there-Swimming about 3:20 p.m., Shaw was caught in a rip tide and was unable to reach the shore. Murphy who has not yet gone on duty for the season, happened to be present and went to thjp aid of Shaw, bringing him ashore.Shaw was taken to the home of Paul Rice, a friend, until he wag sufficiently recovered to return to San Diego.
