The commercial clubs of both this city and New Albany have been invited, the three bodies now working amicably together to strengthen the ties between the sister cities.The action of the Wayne county commissioners in granting a franchise to Robert M. Ashe for the perpetual right to establish and maintain electric lighting lines through most of the townships in the county, has aroused criticism. It developed that the franchise gives nothing in return to Wayne county, while it gives the right to use every public highway in the township designated. Certain restrictions are made, however, which will protect the county and its citizens, but the fact that the grant is a valuable one, and that it was made without, even the advice of the county attorney, has excited comment.A commercial club has been formed at St. Paul, Ind., with Harry W.
