NO. 41Frank Gotcfi and Linn Ruby Will Wrestle for a purse and for the Championship.TO BE HELD AT ARMORYTuesday Evening the Trained Giants Will Meet and Contest for Honors and Emoluments.Tuesday evening at the armory there will be a professional wrestling match between Frank Gotch and Linn Ruby. It will be an exciting event and there will le a great audience. As both are well-known athletes, the contest will be in earnest as there is a big wad of money deposited in the hands of one of the Algona sports, a long established editor, Mr. Goteh has been flooring his competitors in recent matches, but he will have something to do if he defeats the giant who will contest with him Tuesday evening.While in our office one day this week Mr, Ruby, in order to demonstrate his physical powers and the rigid training to which he has subjected himself, increased the expansion of his chest 14 inches and he said he is usually able to expand two inches more.The Eldora Enterprise in commenting on a recent wrestling match at that place pays Mr. Ruby the following high compliment: “ Linn Ruby, while physically a giant in strength and skill, conducted himself as a gentleman at all times. Unlike many men who travel about from place to place and associate for the most part with the “ sports” of the town, Ruby neither drinks intoxicants, uses tobacco or profanity. The match of Friday evening had none of the objectionable features often found at the sides of the matted enclosure. It was for $25 a side and the best man won. Colby is a clever young fellow and will yet receive license to “go some” against the best talent.”
