We ARE indebted to W. S. Man ning for some geological specimens from his place in Manning canyon. One is a specimen of bituminal shale formed from on small sea weed, the first organic matter that existed on the globe and the others contain a very rare mineral said to worth $7000 to the ton. The name of it Mr. Manning had forgotten.
