Arthur W. Daniels, 68, for mer Chicago Heights resident and at one-time vice president of American Manganese Steel division, died suddenly in New York yesterday morning. He was a resident of Wilmette. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Scott funeral home in Wilmette. Bur ial will take place at Mt. Em blem cemetery near Elmhurst. Mr. Daniels was chairman of the board of Durham Aircraft Service, Inc., of New York, and president and chairman of the board of Daniels-Kummer En graving company in Melrose Park and Addison, Ill. Born in Chicago on January 30, 1888, Mr. Daniels lived in Chicago Heights from 1917 to 1937. While in Chicago Heights he was active in the Masonic order. He was also a member of the Moose, Elks and Kiwanis club. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. William C. Carrier of Homewood, Mrs. H. J. Newell of St. Louis, and Mrs. R. W. Puckett of Arcadia, Calif.; two sons, Robert L. Dan iels of Wilmette and A. W. Dan iels, Jr., of Elmhurst, and 10 grandchildren.
