It would be beneficial for anyone anticipating aervicr or travel in that vicinity to be able to recognize the Southern Cross, and such stars as the Alpha Centauri.Skies aa they would appear atManila. Pearl Harbor. Australia.and the south pole will be shown.according to Professor Cleminshaw.No person has ever seen the south sky from the south pole, he said, because the few explorers that have reached this point have done «o In the summer time when the sun is up. The sun is above the horizon for six months continuously at either pole.Lantern slides illustrating comparative sizes of stars will be shown.The lecture is given Saturdays and Sundays during May at 3:30 and 8:30 p.m.
