—J|1 3°Mrs. S. G. Moore DiesLaura A. Knapp was born in Illinois March 4, 1855. She was the daughter of Charles and Rhoda Knapp.At the age of five years she came with her parents from Illinois to Mahaska county, Iowa, where she continued to reside until she married Steven G. Moore. She was the mother of nine children of whom three died in infancy.In 1893 Mrs. Moore moved to Pocahontas county, Iowa, and in 1901 moved to Erwin, South Dakota where she lived until recently. For the past few months she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. J. T. Ferguson, near Laurens.Mrs. Moore had not been in good health for the past seven years. Her last illness which resulted in her death covered a period of six weeks. She passed away at the home of her daughter May 2, 1930, at the age of 75 years, 1 month* and 28 days.Those who survive and mourn her loss are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Gertie Ryon of Spencer, Mrs. Katie Ferguson of Laurens, Mrs. Emma Trenary of Erwin, South Dakota, Mrs. Maude Maris of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two sons, Chaidey S, of Lake Preston, South Dakota and Henry oi 3elle Fourche, South Dakota; two sisters and a brother; and also 28 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.At the age of seventeen Mrs. Moore united with the Methodist Episcopal church. When she moved to Erwin, South Dakota, she united with the Congregational church as there wasno Methodist church in the community.#She was a member of the Congregational church at the time of her death.The funeral was held Monday forenoon at ten o’clock from the Methodist church and the services were conducted by Rev. Chas. H. Seward, the pastor. Burial was in the Laurens cemetery.Mrs. Moore had been away from this community many years but the people who lived here in the 90’s still remember her for her many neighbor-ly acts.
