9 post science winsNine Rich East students earned medals in the SICA Science Festival at Moraine Valley Community College.The festival gave students an opportunity to demonstrate creativity, reasoning and knowledge in science. Students from 20 SICA high schools entered projects, according to faculty sponsor Keith Kluge.i The students competed in 16 different events, earning “superior” medals for first and second place and “excellent” medals for third to seventh places.Rich East medal winners are Eric Peterson, second in bridge building; Chris Deitch, second in windmill construction; Kara Garzelloni, third in qualitative analysis; Rebecca Key, third in topographic maps; Anthony Algmin and Brian Coyle, fourth in science bowl; Dawn Holm, fifth in biology I exam; Ginger Aleshire, seventh in bridge building; and Joy Tassis, seventh in acid-base titration.
