Alice M. Gibson, 81^ arlan — Alice Mae Gibson, daughter of Bert arid lenora lAelpfi Hughes, was bom Dec 2, 1904 on a fa rm near Portsmouth She died at Bishop Clarkson hospital m Omaha, NK , April 19, 1MI at age 81 years, 4 months and 17 daysShe attended country school and graduated from St Mary i high school in Port smooth in 1923 She grew to adulthood on her parents farm After school she took nor mal teachers training in Denison and taught school for five years in Shelby Co. On April 3,1928, she married Harry Gibson at the Broadway Methodist church parsonage in Co. Bluffs Two children were born to this union After they were married, they farmed in Shelby and Harrison Co , until the y retired m 1969 They moved to Harlan in 1977, and this has been their home since that tuneShe was a past member of the lennant United Methoidst church, and a present member of the United Methodist church in Harlan, where she was a member of the Builders Club She was a member of the Zenobta Kebekah llt;odge, No 286 of Harlan and United Methodist women She was also a member of the Pioneer Country club of rural Tennant for many yearsIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Esther She issurvived by her husband Harry of Harlan; one son, Gerald of Sioui City; onedaughter, Dornia iMrs Harold I llt;ansman of Harlan; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews r- 1 v*r-Funeral services were April 22, 1918 at Pauley F uncial Home in Harlan with Pasloi George Gibson of Uluted Methodist church in Harlan, officiating Burial was in Harlan cemetery with Sheldon Huwerter, Michael J Blum.
