ON THE WAY BACK WE GAVE A f.IFT to a sabra girl in army uniform. That is, she talks Hebrew like a sabra and belongs to the group, but she was bom in Syria. She was just as enthusiastic about the Americans as the latter were about the sabras. This is not the only case of a successful teaming up of young c Americans with young sabras. Only a few days earlier I was p present at the inauguration ceremony of a new settlement in the * Western Galilee on the Lebanese border where American chalutzim joined half of the settlement of Beth Ha-arava (The House in the v Desert on the Dead Sea) now destroyed by the Arabs, to form a v new kibbutz. 0There were several foreign correspondents present.
