Harrison county, had been killeo and his body secreted, as th^ bloody trail from Squire Boston’s kitchendoor, oyer au open field 400 yardsin width, ended in a pool ot blood in the edge of the woods, with mark as if a man’s body had lain in this pool. The supposition was that at this point Long had been overtake i* by the mob and his brains blown out, and his body made way with.But Long is y* t alive. When he reached the woods he sank down in a tainting fit from loss of blood ami the mob seeing him fall, ami knowing he was desperated wounded, supposed him dead, aud left him He recovered consciousness alter a time, and then started for his home,five miles away, which he reachedanout 9 o'clock, ju*t after the vigi-lants, who had notified his wife to leave, under penalty ot death anchaving her body burned in the house had rode away.He immediately sent for a neighbor, whom he knew to be his friend,ana got him to take him (Long) in a buggy to Coryoon, fifteen miles distant, where he coutd receive proper medical treatment. The parties reached Corydon, and Dr Wolf was called to see Long. He found he had been shot in the back of the neck, the ball passing throughand coming out at the mouth, knocking out Long’s teeth, and making a terrible and probably fatal wound A deep and painful flesh wound in the hip, but. it is not dangerous’A slight wound—a mere scratch, was found on the left side of the abdomen. Long’s physicians say his recovery would be a miracle.Louis Henrioitc, the leader of the masked mob, who was killed by Long, has heretofore stood well in Harrison county. Of late, however, his associations have been vicious. He leaves a wife and several children. He was buried to day. At Corydonthe public sympathy i* with Long.The mob is a vendetta, with its counterpart on the side of Long and his friends.
