Elected a Ruling Elder in x the MJ, Fisgah church in 1831, he ever after served in that capacity, being at the time of his death am elder in the church of Temperanceville. He loved Zion and labored for her advancement. He. preferred i Jerusalem above his- chief joy.; Nothing pleased him more' than to. see sinners turning, to Christ, and his.dying desire wasj that all his dear friendsmight be saved through atoning blood As it was “ Christ ” , for ;him “ to: live^’i/so it was doubtless “gain” for him “to die’’—eternal gain.
