Temple Citions Leave May 30 By PAULINE THOMSON Permission for a six day Inter cultural field up to Ensenada, Mexico, in which 38 sixth grade students, from Gloverly School will participate, was granted by the Temple City Board of Educa ion Monday night. ‘the proposed exercise in out door education will be the culmi nation of work done by an ex tended’ day honors class of which, Mr. Ed Aguirre has served as instructor, the group will leave for Mex ico, Saturday, May 30, and will return Friday, June 3, ‘They will get up camp at a ranch owned by Senor Jesus B. Guerram, un cle of Aguirre, in the valley of La Misan located about 15 miles from Ensenada. ‘The Temple City youngsters will enjoy daily experiences with their Mexican counterparts attending a nearby shoal, . Educational field trips will be taken to a fish cannery, cement factory, marine biology labora tory and commercial dock. Professor Olguin Hernida, Fen eral School inspector who has helped Temple City officials 4m arranging the trip, has planned side trips to places where su dents may see basket weaving, pottery making, leather and metal craftsmen and where foo tillas are being made. The ranch is in a sheltered bay with tide pools along the shoreline. ‘These will offer an opportunity for study of marine life. The Temple City Kiwanis Club Wil sponsor the project, under weiting bus transportation costs. Each child will pay $20 for the week. Seven school Staff members will participate,and the parents of some of the children will ac company them as supervisors. A dry run for the camping experience wil be held at Clover ly School Friday, May 22. The children will set up their tents, sleep out, and will rehearse vari ous Phases of the project. . The contributions towards the experience have been made by the Junior Women's Club and the Cloverly P.T.A.
