THE VOTES OF THE MINERSRESULT OF BALLOT ON THE TWO UNIONS TO-NIGHT.The count commenced at Nottingham, this morning of the votes in the miners* ballot, which has been proceeding during the j»a.it week, and in which the men werr to express the choice either of the Notts .Miners’ Association or the Industrial .Miners’ Union, established airier the general strike by Mr. CL A. Spencer, dl* F•J he count was supervised by a well-known firm of Nottingham solicitors, and a former mayor of Nottingham acted as returning officer. There were 180 ballot boxes and eighty tellers.Mr. Herbert Smith and Mr. Frank \arley represented the Miners’ Federation and the Notts Miners’ Association.Officials of the new Spencer union kept strictly aloof. There were no interested Iminors in the vicinity of the hall. It is expected that the result will be known this evening.Officials state that they purjiose in con-*eying the result to the coal owners toremind them of their assurance that the men should have perfect frredom to belong to whichever union they choose.
