In the Supreme Court of the United States | also, in the trial of the unfortunate Africans, | who were thrown upon our shores, in the , Spanish vessel “Amistad,” the devotion of our national goverment to the interests and4wishes’ of the slaveholders, has been held up to the merited scorn of the world, by that estimable and honored veteran, John Q. Adams; and a decision of that highest tribunal has been obtained, favorable to the cause of justice and liberty, and the Africans are now free.
