ObituariesWilliam W. SmithBRIDGE CITY - William W. Smith, 83, died at 11:04 p.m. April 27 at Baptist Hospital inBeaumont.He was a native of Oak Grove,La., and a resident of Bridge City for 22 years. He retired from Texaco and was a member of the I.O.O.F Lodge in Port Arthur. Services were held Saturday atthe Clayton-Thompson Bridge CityFuneral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Walton officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.Survivors include two daughters, Cloate Briggs and Olivia Stockton, both of Bridge City; three sons, Lonnie O. Smith and Bernard Smith, both of Nederland and Tim Smith of Port Arthur; three brothers, Arch Smith of Kirbyville, Sam Smith of Oak Grove and Lee Smith of Zavalla; a sister, Lula Lovell of Oak Grove;13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.Robert Lee DixonGROVES — Robert Lee Dixon,73, died at 5:05 p.m. April 27 at StMary Hospital.He was a native of Clinton, La.,and a Port Arthur Groves resident for 65 years. He was a retired seaman.Services were held Friday at theNunnelly-Stanley Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James M. Frazier officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.Survivors include six sisters,O.c. Byrd of Center, Mary Flowers of Florida, Julias Levy of Port Neches, B.J. Barbin of Nacogdoches, Mrs. Clyde Harris of Spurger and Mrs. M.C.Clautman of Pasadena; two brothers, AA.M. Dixon of Port Arthur and Wesley Dixon of Houston.Elsie JonesNEDERLAND - El sie Jones, 59, of 318 22nd St., died at 4:10 a.m. April 27 at St Elizabeth'sHospital in Beaumont.She was a native of Roganville and a resident of Nederland for 28 years. She was employed with C.O. Wilson Junior High School, where she worked as an cafteria worker.Services were held Friday at the First Baptist Church. Graveside services were held Friday at theFriendship Cemetery in Roganville.Survivors include her husband,Vergul Howard Jones of Nederland; three daughters, Linda Saits of Nederland, Debbie Richardson of Vidor and Julie Jones Massey of Beaumont; a brother, James Sheffield of Lumberton, stepmother, Ollnie Sheffield of Roganville; a stepbrother, Hugh Beaver of Roganville; two step-sisters,Barbara Smith and Shirley Parker, both of Roganville; and agrandson.Thomas R. RyanThomas Richard Ryan, 67, of 2032 Angelle Drive, died at 8 p.m. April 25 at St. Mary Hospital.He was a native of GrandCaymen, British West Indies, and a Port Arthur resident for 42 years He was a retired seaman with Texaco Marine Department and was a member of the St.Peter's Catholic Church.Services were held April 27 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. George Blackwood officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.Survivors include his wife,Mamie Polite Ryan of Port Arthur; two daughters, Mrs. Jo Marie Anselmo of Port Arthur and Lillie Palombo of Groves; a son, Tommy Ryan of Groves; a sister, Eloise Furtado of New Orleans,La.; a brother, Wilford Ryan of Grand Caymen; and six grandchildren.Inez LambertPORT NECHES -- Inez Lambert, 76, of 876 Texas Ave., died at 8 p.m. April 23 at Mid-Jefferson County Hospital.She was a native of Rapids, La., and a Port Neches resident for 60 years.Services were held April 25 at the Pat A Riley Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Frazier officiating. Burial followed in Oak Bluff Memorial Park.Survivors include her husband, Sam Lambert of Port Neches; a son, Edgar Lee Townsen of Port Neches; a daughter, Jo An MdcCammond of Bridge City; two sisters, Sallie Nowlin of Port Arthur and Carrie Corley of Houston; a brother, M.P. Nugent of Port Neches; seven grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.
