A seven-year-old boy’s body was found in a canyon on the southeast side of Mt. Signal, west of Calexico Wednesday. The boy had been hunted by hundreds of persons during three days time. It was Jerry Santillan, Braw ley, who discovered the boys clothes. Santillan, an Imperial Valley College student, sum moned help from a Mexican fireman’s camp at the base of the mountain in Mexico. The body was taken to Mexicali. Imperial County Coroner Leonard Speer identified the boy as Keith Riley, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Riley, Im perial. The boy had gone on a Sunday School outing Sunday morning and wandered away from his companions. It was a few hours later when he was discovered missing. Speer said the boy had died of a broken neck when he fell off a 25-foot ledge. Speer said the boy had removed all his clothes except for his under shorts. He had rolled his socks and put them in his shoes. One theory of the death, Speer said, was that the boy may have been frightened by a snake or animal and stepped off the ledge in the dark. There were abrasions over 90 per cent of his body, indicating that he had rolled down over jagged rocks before hitting a flat rock and breaking his neck.
