William IngwersenMIDCOUNTY GULF STATES UTILITIES EMPLOYES HONOREDWilliam M. Ingwersen, residential sales representative of Gulf States Utilities Company in Nederland and Miss Mattie Gray, local office clerk at the Port Neches office, were among those honored at the Company's Port Arthur-Beaumont Division Service Award Meeting at the Avalon club Monday night, according to A.C. Handley, Nederland district superintendent.Miss Gray and Ingwersen were among 45 employees from various towns in the Company’s Port Arthur and Beaumont divisions who were presented with awards designating completion of 10, 20, orMiss Mattie Gray30 years of service with Gulf States. Both Miss Gray and Ingwersen received 20-year awards.The Company's president, Roy S. Nelson, made the presentation of awards.Miss Gray began her employment as a comptometer operatorin the accounting department at Beaumont. She held various other Jobs in the ice and railway divisions of the Company there until 1935 when she was transferred to Port Neches as cashier. She was made clerk of that local office in 1944.Ingwersen's record with the utility company begins with his employment as a checker and v cashier in the ice department at Nederland. He was employed in Port Arthur sales department from * 1936 until 1942 when he was transferred to Port Neches as customer service representative.A year later he returned to Port Arthur for a year and In 1944 transferred to Nederland where he has been located since.Sixty-seven men and women in the Port Arthur division, including this year’s new members =» are in the Service Clubs.
