Last Saturday singing and public speaking contests were held in the L. D. 8. Second ward church, There were ladies’ quartets from Goshen and Shelley, and a male quartet from Goshen, Shelley No. 2 won the con test for ladies. Shelley No. 1 car ried off junior girls honors, ‘The public speaking was entered into by three wards, with the follow ing champions: Elder Anderson, Goshen; Alma Packer, Shelley; Aub rey Parker, Shelley. C. B. Dinwoody as judge, gave the decision to Shelley Second ward. Athletic sports were the order of the afternoon, and in the evening a ball was given by the M.T. A.
