Due to wet, cold and rainy conditions the anticipated opening for Canandaigua Speedway has been moved back to May 6th. This still being a tentative date because of construction being done on the revamped speedway, however if Mr. Sunshine can spread some warm sunshine in the next two weeks, racing will probably take place on that date. Saturday night racing will consist of modified late models, Mini stocks and Kadet classes on the three-eighths mile day oval. Modified Sportsmen may be brought in for Thursday mgrit shows during the summer months, this being an off night for both fans and drivers should prove very interesting racing as many drivers will be traveling on this off night seeking New York State Championship points.
