(CNL)—Mrs. Mabel Malloy, Sr. 139 S. Sawyer, died at South Town hospital Sunday after being struck by a car at 5200 West 55th street A short time later, police arrested Charles R. Barr, 22, 605 KE. Chi cago, Hinsdale, as the motorist who struck Mrs. Malloy. Neighbors who saw the accident gave Detective Donald Verkler the License number of the death car. Verkler traced the license and went to Buart’s home, where he found him repairing a smashed front fender and grillwork in his back yard. Also arrested and held for the inquest, scheduled’ for Monday mornin’ at Jordan’s mortuary. 5822 Wentworth, were Robert Schrader, 20, 859 East Ravine, Highland Park, and Miss Eleanor Bolke, 20, 9139 .Exchange. Both were said to have been riding with Barr when Mrs. Malloy was struck. According to Detective Verkler Barr admitted he struck the La Grange woman, but insisted he had tried to avoid hitting her. The police said “Barr explained his leaving the scene of the accident by saying he had no insurance.
