The Marvel Ruined by Fire and Water. The Marvel Theatre, moving picture show, North Market street, this city, was gutted by a disastrous fire, on Wed nesday evening, May 1st, at 5.45 p.m. The origin of the fire is a mystery, but the supposition is that defective electric wiring caused the trouble. The loss is a severe one, as the theatre had been recently remodeled and new machinery introduced at a heavy expense. For a time the fire looked dangerous, and the handsome store room and dwelling of Mrs. John Eisenhauer was threatened, but the heroic work of the firemen after nearly one hour of strenuous work, con trolled the flames. The Messrs. Keller, who control the theatre, were unable to name their loss. The Eisenhauer prop erty was not notably damaged, the cel lars being flooded and the smoke dam aged the papering on the third floor.
