Services at Dows for William DraperDOWS—Services for William Draper, 79, were held Saturday from the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gordon Vickery officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery and Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Draper died Thursday at Clarion Community Hospital.William Draper, the son of Henry and Annie Bethel Draper, was born July 16, 1699, in Washington state. He lived in Missouri as a child and moved to Blairsburg when 17 years of age. He and Irene L. Scott were married at Webster City Dec. 24, 1919. They farmed for nine years near Blairsburg and in 1928 moved to Dows where they farmed until his retirement in 1976. Mr. Draper was a member of the United Methodist Church, Dows Mens’ Club and Saddle Club.Survivors includes daughter, Deloris Story of Dows; two sons, Virgil of Belmond and Gerald of Mason City; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy of Raytown, Mo., and Ralph of Jewell; and a sister Caddie Drinkwater of California, Mo.Mr. Draper was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and two grandchildren.
