Golf courses in the early Fifties were doing well to break even, but interest in the game has put most municipal courses on the profit side of the ledger.No added taxes or new bond issues are contemplated.After carefully examining the city’s position, City Manager Clifford A. Johnson and the City Commission turned up some $100,000 worth of city property which was not being used and likely never would be. Another $50,000 was already earmarked as park bonds and the last $50,000 will come from water and sewer bonds to finance the park's sprinkler system.The Mountain Creek Lake Park will likely become one of the area’s most popular spots for recreation and relaxation.
