Earlene Speicher and Merlin Marohn Take Vows at Church of The BrethrenThe wedding of Miss Earlene Speicher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Speicher of rural Fredericksburg and Merlin Marohn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marohn of La Cross, Wis., took place at the, j Church of the Brethren on Satur-'! day afternoon at 2:30.The maid of honor was Miss Ardys Marohn, sister of the groom, and the best man was Buddy Speicher, brother of the bride. Ushers were Glen Sloan, of La Crosse, a brother-in-law of the groom and Charles Speicher, brother of the bride.The bride’s gown, made by herself, was of white embossed taf-elta. floor-length, fitted bodice wilt;h self-covered buttons down the front, full skirt scattered with rhinestones, and throe - fourths length sleeves. Her veil was of silk illusion net fastened wilh a headband of seed pearls and beads.The maid of honoi h.jd a dress, like that of of the bride, in ice blue 'afetta ballerina length. She also wore a shoulder veil, with head band of scad pearls and beads.The men in the pnilv all wore '•'kipper blue suits and more carnal ion bouton in or s.The bride earned an arm bouquet of pink .sweetheart roses. The maid of honor earned a colonial bouquet of pink pom-poms and while carnations.For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Speicher chose a lurquoie nylon shoci dress wtib tan accessories and the groom’s mother was in pink wlih black accessories.Miss Marlene Klolz was organ- 1 ist and accompanied Melvin Matt-ke, who sang, “Because”, and, “The Lord's (Prayer”. 1A reception for 100 guests was : held xn the church parlors with the following assisting the hostesses: 'Mrs. Howard Whitnablc, Mrs.Glen Elliott and Mrs. Lester Guenther, Judy Whitnable, Margaret Triplett and Susan Lamp-recht of Sumner. Mrs. Raymond baked the three-tiered cake and decorated it with blue bells. tThe guest book was in charge of Mrs. Glen Sloan of La Crosse, Wis.Guests were present from La Crosse, Wis., New Hampton, New Hartford, Cedar Falls, Lawler, Sumner, Waterloo, Mason City, Des 'Moines, Waverly and Fredericksburg.Mr. Marohn is employed at the John Deere plant in Waterloo, where they plan to make their home.i tA miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Paul Slecge on Thursdav evening honored her | niece, Miss Earlene Speicher, who 1 was married Satin day afternoon to Merlin 'Marohn. Guests were present from Sumner—Mines. Adam Potratz, Lcs Lamprccht. Elmar Lucas, Urban Haag, Ray Gics-man and Louise Whitnable: Miss Margaret Mourcr of Des Moines and from Fredericksburg, Mines. Raymond EUioll, Howard Whitnablc, Gene Speicher, Ray Spoich-er, Charles Spojchet, .Tcsse Blake and Mrs Leo Speicher.
