Child Dies of Injuries in Acci dent At Liberty; Florida Man in Goshen Hospital FATALITIES THROUGHOUT U. S. UNUSUALLY HEAVY Nine Deaths in and About New York City; Nine in Indiana; Five in Chicago Two persons in this region died in hospitals Saturday and Sun day, in addition to those killed in the grade crossing accident at New Hampton, making a total of eleven deaths in Orange and Sul livan Counties. Seventy persons were killed in automobile accidents through out the United States exclusive of the nine who were killed at New Hampton. Julius Hippich, six, died in Maimonides Hospital, Sat urday. Hilary Blohausz of Flor ida died in Goshen Emergency Hospital Sunday from injuries re ceived Saturday in Florida. A father and three sons were killed in a grade crossing accident at Jeffersonville, Ind. Nine were killed in and about New York, five at Chicago, five in a collision near Bristol, Ind. Six met death in automobile acidents over the week end at Philadelphia, two in Mich igan, two in western Pennsylvania one at Brewster, N. Y., six in traffic and grade crosing accidents in Ohio and three in the South east, and twenty-five others in widely scattered sections of the United States. Little Julius Hippich of Liberty was struck by the fender of a car driven by Samuel Heller as he ran out from the sidewalk in the path of the automobile. At first it was believed he was not serious ly injured. He was taken to Maimonides Hospital, however, where it was found that he had suffered a fractured skull. He be came unconscious and died a short time after reaching the hospital. The driver reported the accident to police but was not detained. Mr. Blahusz was struck as he crossed the highway in the vil lage of Florida by an automobile driven by David A. Monroe of Sloatsburg Saturday. The injur ed man died in the Emergency Hospital at Goshen Sunday morn ing. He was crossing the high way near Romer’s Meat market and less than one hundred feet from the spot where Rose Harter was fatally injured last December Mr. Blahausz was taken to the hospital by Andrew Golomboski. Examination by Dr. R. L. Lippin cott revealed that four ribs had been fractured and that splinters of one had penetrated a lung. Mr. Blahausz came to the Unit ed States from Poland sixteen years ago and had been a resi dent of Florida twelve years. He was a produce grower. He leaves his wife, two sons, Gus of Florida and Zaigmund of New York City, four daughters, Mrs. John Mizin iak and Mrs. Miccyslaw of Poland Mrs. Marion Suzakoski of Buffalo and Mrs. Clifford Murray of Flushing. L. Eleven grand children also survive. The funeral will be held Tues day morning at nine o’clock in St. Joseph's Church Florida with the Rev. John T. Smykla officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cem etery. Mr. Monroe, the driver of the car, will appear at a hearing Mon day afternoon before Justice of the Peace Harry Craig, but indications are that he will be exonerated.
