State department will be in Seattle.A council of Indians living on the Tulalip Reservation, on Whidby Island, Puget Sound, has asked the government to effect the sale of between 100,000,000 and 200,000,000 feet of standing timber on the reservation, having a market value ranging from $400,000 to $800,000. This is desired sold for the benefit of allotment owners. The Indians said they are tired of owning property and being unable to market it advantageously. The petition, signed by 38 of the Indians, has been sent to Washington, D. C. The program proposes selling the timber in one holding, the government to administer the sale and bank the fortune to the credit of Indian owners, and pay out the money in such ways as it may deem wise.Mainr ftpn T.pnnnrrl Wood. rhief of
